Ten years ago, the need for real intelligence, independent of how the data is delivered, was why we started TDS Ultra.
Telemetry in one system, fuel cards in another, leasing reports somewhere else again, none of it talking to the others. Being agnostic of any one hardware or software provider was never a compromise for us. It was the entire point.
From today, TDS Ultra is part of the Moving Intelligence Group.
Why now
Our team is excited to join forces with a European business with proven technology expertise. This will enhance what we have already created and help new and existing customers continue to make sense of their fleets and people, through better insights from driver and vehicle data. TDS Ultra turns fragmented fleet data into actionable insights, whatever the source. Echoes, the Group's connected vehicle platform, already connects directly to any OEM, giving customers access to vehicle data without additional hardware. Being agnostic, across OEMs, hardware and data providers, is the hallmark of the Moving Intelligence Group.
Mathieu Chènebit, who leads the Group, put it simply when we were working through the deal: whatever the source of the data, agnostic is what matters. That's exactly the hallmark we've built TDS Ultra on, so the fit was an easy one to see.
What actually changes
For our customers, not much, day to day.
Ultra Reporting, Ultra Fleet Management and Ultra Toolkit keep working exactly as they do now, and so does the account team you already deal with. What does change is what sits behind us: access to real-time OEM vehicle data through Echoes, alongside the supplier-agnostic aggregation TDS Ultra already does. Put together, that's driver risk, fleet cost, fuel use and manufacturer data, from any source a fleet already runs on, in one normalised view.
Paul Railston, who runs TDS Ultra day to day, has been saying much the same thing internally: this is about enhancing what we've already built, not replacing it. Existing and new customers get more ways to make sense of their fleets, not a different platform to learn.
Together, the Group now manages more than 850,000 connected vehicles across Europe. That scale matters less to us than what it lets us build, but it's a fair measure of the company TDS Ultra is now part of.
The bit that hasn't changed
TDS Ultra is still based in Southwick, still run by the same team, and still built around one belief: that a fleet's data should be usable no matter where it comes from. That's not changing. If anything, it's the reason this made sense.
If you want the fuller picture of the acquisition, Mathieu covers it from the Group's side on movingintelligence.ai.
