The Future: Where wellbeing and Driver Data converge.

This morning, you probably knew more about the state of your fleet vehicles than the state of the people who drive them.

The Future: Where wellbeing and Driver Data converge.

Fleet teams have spent a decade getting good at knowing the state of a vehicle. Far fewer can say the same about the state of the person behind the wheel. That gap is becoming harder to justify: to regulators, to investors, and to the drivers themselves.

Why this pressure is growing

  • Investors are asking for better ESG disclosure from the businesses they fund, wellbeing and duty-of-care included.
  • The expectations set by gig-economy employment now extend to every business with people moving on the road: employees and contractors are held to the same standard of care.
  • Mobile and field-based staff are easy to overlook simply because they're harder to reach than office-based colleagues.
  • Existing wellbeing surveys are rarely correlated with performance data, which makes it hard to know whether anything you do about them is actually working.
  • Finding and keeping good drivers is already difficult without adding to the reasons they leave.

What we're thinking

We have been working with a scientifically-developed wellbeing assessment from Peopleful, deployed through the app your drivers already use.

Simple to deploy

Integrated into the existing Ultra Toolkit app, deployed on demand, with quarterly recommended.

Scientifically valid

The assessment itself is developed and validated by Peopleful's people scientists.

Anonymised

Individual responses stay private; the fleet-level view is what reaches management.

Instant support

Each driver gets feedback tailored to their own risk profile, straight away.

Holistic fleet risk is how a vehicle is driven, and why. Knowing both improves morale, reduces safety incidents, and helps you keep good people.

Where this is heading

The wellbeing assessment is stage one. From there, the roadmap is to correlate wellbeing archetypes with real driving data: understanding which profiles carry higher on-road risk, deploying proactive, targeted learning based on that risk, and feeding the result into Ultra Reporting so managers get better decision-making data, not just another survey.

No one else in fleet is correlating wellbeing data with daily driving performance in this way, or using it to spot when a driver may need support before it shows up as an incident. TDS Ultra already helps fleets understand vehicle performance and vehicle state. This is the low-cost extension that lets you understand the role your people play in it too.
